Walt Disney World: Which Park, How Many Days, and Is Park Hopper Worth It?
4 min read
Short answer: for a first visit, buy the one-park-per-day ticket and give each park its own day. Add Park Hopper only if you already know you want to see two parks on one day.
Four parks, one park per day
Walt Disney World Resort has four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Walt Disney World ticket with one park per day is sold from €118.81 per person, and its listing describes four theme parks, one park per day, plus two nighttime entertainment districts.
The arithmetic is simple. A one-park-per-day ticket lets you enter one park on each day of the ticket. If you want to see all four parks, plan four days; if you only care about two, two days is enough. How many days is therefore a question about which parks matter to you, not about a magic number.
What Park Hopper changes
The Walt Disney World ticket with Park Hopper is sold from €196.68 per person. Its listing says you can hop between the four parks each day.
Disney’s own Park Hopper page sets out the limits:
- You enter your first park, and only then can you visit another one during park hours.
- Hopping depends on capacity. Disney can switch it off at a park on a given day and says it tells guests by notification in the My Disney Experience app.
- It does not guarantee entry to pre-booked experiences such as dining reservations.
The same page says that Annual Passholders and guests with certain non-dated tickets may still need a theme park reservation to enter their first park. These rules have changed several times, so read the current version before you travel.
Who should skip Park Hopper
Park Hopper costs more per person, and a long day with small children can leave little energy for a second park. If you will spend each day in a single park anyway, the extra ticket option buys you nothing.
It makes sense when your group is split by taste, when you want one park in the morning and a different one in the evening, or when you only have two or three days and want to see as many parks as possible.
Our recommendation
| Ticket | Price | Rating | What the listing says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walt Disney World, 1 park per day | €118.81 | 4.6 (1,552) | Four theme parks, one park per day, two nighttime entertainment districts |
| Walt Disney World with Park Hopper | €196.68 | 4.7 (294) | Hop between the four parks each day |
For most visitors: the one-park-per-day ticket. It is the more reviewed of the two, and it matches how most families really spend a Disney day. Pick Park Hopper if you want flexibility and accept that Disney may limit hopping on busy days.
